When Ekta Kapoor will get married, she just turned 36 now (7th June 2011)

She made her foray into television production at the age of twenty and since then, Ekta Kapoor has been responsible for some of the most successful soaps on the small screen. She has also slowly, but surely started usurping film territory as all her latest productions have been declared box-office winners. It's time to make some Shor In The City for the Czarina of Indian television as she turns 36! (7th June)

Born to Bollywood superstar Jeetendra and his wife Shobha Kapoor, Ekta is the elder sister of Tusshar Kapoor. The head honcho of Balaji Telefilms entered the world of television with the comedy Hum Paanch, which ran successfully for two seasons. However, Ekta's real breakthrough came with the pair of soap operas which went on to rule telly screens for many years, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. Some of her other notable shows include Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Kaahin Kissii Roz, Kkusum, Kutumb, Kahiin To Hoga, Kasamh Se and Bandini.

The first film that Ekta produced was the Govinda starrer, Kyo Kii... Main Jhuth Nahin Bolta. Others such as Kucch To Hai, Krishna Cottage, Koi Aap Sa and Kyaa Kool Hai Hum followed. She has also co-produced a number of super hits like Shootout at Lokhandwala, Love Sex aur Dhokha, Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, and most recently, Shor in the City and Ragini MMS. She is also producing the upcoming film The Dirty Picture starring Naseeruddin Shah, Vidya Balan and Tusshar Kapoor.

As she turns 36, we wish Ekta a very happy birthday and hope that the fiery producer continues her winning streak at the box office and on the small screen!
