Hyderabad gears up for the extravagant union of Andhra's two top infrastructure giants, in what could well turn out to be the grandest wedding ever witnessed by the city.

The impending nuptials between GVK Group's G V Krishna Reddy's granddaughter Mallika and the son of Indu Group's Indukuri Syam Prasad Reddy, I Sidharth have captured the fascination of socialites all over.

Big B just tweeted, "Many Hyderabad residents wishing me a welcome to their city ... thank you ! Your hospitality is infectious !!". He had earlier also tweeted, "In the land of the Nizam, Chaar Minar and Falaknuma for a wedding.. ..Falaknuma - What a Palace ! Taj Hotels restore it ..magnificent" before elaborating more on his experience at the Falaknuma Palace, "Had been to Hyderabad, to Falaknuma Palace for a visit when it had not been restored .. now in full glory ! Celebrity designer Manish Malhotra also writes, "On my way to Hyderabad."

Earlier in the morning, Farah Khan Ali started her day with a tweet, "GM. Off to the beautiful city of Hyderabad to attend my friend Pinky Reddys daughters wedding. Looking forward to a traditional super time."

Unbelievable rumours of extravagance have been floating around ever since the 5,000 invitation cards, each worth Rs 5,000, were sent out through special couriers.

Hema Malini arrived Thursday for her Bharatnatyam performance at the mehendi and sangeet ceremony, to be hosted by Congress MP Dr T Subbarami Reddy, the bride's maternal grandfather.

Also on the list are Bollywood A-listers like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Katrina Kaif- chartered jets will fly them all in.

A host of Telugu filmstars, directors and producers, corporate India's Mukesh Ambani, ministers, MPs, chief ministers of several states and political leaders will also be present.

The guests will enjoy their stay at the Shamshabad Airport Arena, five-star Novotel Hotel and Hyderabad International Convention Centre, while some other high-profile guests will be put up at the Taj Falaknuma Palace.

The presidential suite's tariff there is Rs 5 lakh per day.
