Do not come to software if you do not have a interest in it. This field has its own set of stress and problems. I know people who moved from manufacturing to software because of (a.) good money and (b) chance to see USA/Europe. They are the most frustrated guys around. After 2-3 rounds of lay off, they want to go back to their old job but after 5-6 years, they are not fit for their old job either.
Last but not the least, I can not imagine someone making 200k and coming to forum with these set of questions.

Got the cards in the mail. My online case status says the application is still pending.

Considering the lowered cost of stock I am planning to gets my hands dirty in stock. But I don't have much knwoeldge about it. Also, by the time I find resouces to learn more about stock, the prices might ahve gone up.

I believe one will be eligible for SS after attaining 40 credits. There is no residency requirement. WRT 401K, you might ending up paying a penalty of 10% in addition to 30% tax.

I am changing job and moving to EAD from h1b. My 140 is approved and 485 has been pending more than 180 days. I am in EB2 category.
Question 1 - New employer wants to inform USCIS about job change and I dont want to do so as it just might delay AOS process? suggestions/thoughsts?
Question 2 - New employer wants to apply for EAD and AP via corporate attorney and I prefer that my attorney do that but if i will have no choice I will have to give up BUT can corporate lawyers apply for my EAD and AP without me changing my legal rep with USCIS?
Question 3 - The job title was "Sr Systems Analyst" and now it would be "System Quality Analyst 5" 5 is the highest level in this company after which it goes to Tech. Manager. I dont see issue with the title...do you see any issue? (job description are similar-I would say about 70%)
Question 4 - Salary at the time of filing 140 was 60k offered for the Sr. System Analyst position and now with the new job is 100k. Can that be a problem?

An estimated 30% of the 50,000 students who wrote the examination from the state cleared the test this year, with over 500 of them making it to the top 2,000 in the open category. Andhra students also scored well in the reserved category with OBC students from the state bagging seven out of the top 15 ranks in this section. Among reserved categories including SC, ST, OBC and physically handicapped (PH) the state secured over 50 ranks in the top 200 slab.
Officials from IIT-Madras, who were in charge of the results, said Andhra students already account for 21% of the total student strength in IITs. "One should not be surprised by the performance of these students as they have traditionally done well. I haven't got any response from my lawyer yet, but in the mean time I called USCIS customer service. At first time, I was transferred to ae 2nd level operator, but while I was waiting, the phone was disconnected. So I called again and explained my situation again to a different operator (1st level). This time, she did some investigation and told me that I should have only one A# and opened a service request. She informed me that I should get a response by Oct. 25.
But some of your lawyers said that they have seen the same situations and there has been no problem, I think it is ok to have two different A#s.

We are all aware of what going on at the Senate floor and also about the ammendments that put forth on the floor. So my question is clear anc simple what ammendment is supported by CORE IV and what are we looking for.
Because the passing of the current version of the bill will effect all the old cases which many people are in and I wont allow that to happen. I will try my best to avoid this situation to happen. Even though i have a MAster in engineering I will not support SKIL progran that will void the previously pending cases. Good try core IV yto make member to work towards the betterment of few people You know what such people are called" SELFFISH". Guys beware on whaT ACTIONS YOU ARE DOING SO THAT YOU WONT REPENT.

Chandu just mentioned that some means of contacting him is made. But he is very pivotal for this . As hez Obama campaign chairman , Senate No. 2 Ranking Democrat. His support or non-support is very crucial to support or not supporting any legislation now and if Obama comes in to picture obviously he will have better hold. Thanks. I will go back and reshoot this and experiment a bit. The scene wasn't lit by harsh light - high cloud as I recall. I actually deepended the shadows intentionally in the PS CS2 RAW converter - the original wasn't as contrasty. What is interesting is that while the actual exposure of the blown area should be well within tolerances (If I were still shooting B&W film I would have guessed it at around zone 8) it is just the one colour that is blown - and yellow is not one of the 3 channels so it must have actualy been 2 colours. I will have to keep an eye on my histogram display because I don't have the $ for a 1DSMkII!
Digital SLRs are like slide film - the dynamic range is more limited than negative film. FWIW, when you end up with detail-less yellows, the red channel is probably the one that has blown. Good luck with your tests. :)

Mine was filed by Fragomen in June and responded to audit in November as well. If your case was filed by Fragomen you have no option but the wait. Sorry to disappoint you, but I am in exactly the same situation.

It is worse than your estimates below because when green card is issued spouse and children are also counted in the quota unlike the h1 where spouse and children are not counted in the quota. Even if we assume each green card applicat has only one child, there would be 3 visa numbers used for each GC applicant. Going by that India has a demand for 150K GC as per the perm statistics but it gets only about 10000 per year. At this rate people from India who applied for GC in 06 and 07 would have to wait about 15 years and 30 years respectively to get the GC!!!!!!!!
About 25,000 PERM labors were approved in 2007 for Indian nationals. Assuming a 2.5:1 ratio of 'GC filed:Labor approved', implies that each year 62,500 GC are demanded by Indians under EB. Since only 10,000 are available (across all EB classes), this implies each year a backlog of 50,000 cases is created for Indians.
Since PD are essentially retrogressed from Nov. 2005, we can assume that since then another 100,000 Indians have joined the GC backlog. It can also be assumed that between 2001 and Nov. 2005 there must be another (atleast) 50,000 waiting for GC.
Assuming these numbers are correct, a person filing for labor today is looking to wait for atleast 15 years before getting a GC (150,000/10,000).
As for those wth PD prior to Nov. 2005 - well..... probably anywhere between 1 to 5 years .....

it is not luck or wishful thinking, it is legislation that is needed to get things our way? For this to happen, IV has to continue its efforts and for that to happen, all of you (if you already are, ignore) should consider becoming contributing members of IV and share some of the advocacy efforts of IV.

I dont think you can amend the labor petition's job description. You may have to file new labor again for new description.
If I may ask, why are you so worried about job desc of labor and your everyday duties. Really, if they have changed a little bit, its not a big deal.
There is a lot of overlap between what programmers do, what programmers/analysts do and what Business analysts do. I know a lot of business analysts who at times write their own code and a lot of programmers who document stuff - kind of documentation that BAs do.
People who adjudicate cases at USCIS are not really IT guys who can differentiate between fine nuances like BA, programmers etc.
Then again, we dont know much about your case, better talk to a lawyer if you are still not comfortable with your situation. Forums are not an alternate to professional legal advice. Be careful before you act on advice from forums. No one here is lawyer and no one here knows the full case. Spending 200 dollars to get the right legal advice when making important decisions is worth every penny.

Well, when she sent for wage determination, TWC is classifying my wage scale at a higher rate than anticipated. This is because one of the lines in my job description refers to the job involving "technical supervision..". As a result this job is being classified as a supervisory position. The lawyer sent a letter clarifying that it is not a supervisory position, but no luck. However, the lawyer says she can change the wordage slightly while submitting in RIR and reprase it to clarify that it is NOT a supervisory position. Has anybody come across such a scenario? The lawyer seems to think that it is ok to make such a change and all I can do is hope and pray that she is right.
