For the first time in the last six days, doctors at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences on Tuesday declared that the health condition of fasting Telangana Rasthra Samithi president K Chandrasekhara Rao is serious, as his body is slowly stopped reacting to medicines.
NIMS director D Prasada Rao told media persons that the TRS president was refusing treatment and that prolonged use of intravenous fluids was not helping the body. "Keeping him healthy artificially creates its own problems in the body over a few days. He is being given saline and parenteral nutrition but it is leading to problems now. The protein content in his blood has come down which affects resistance power in the body. At this point of time he needs healthy oral nutrition otherwise his health may start deteriorating rapidly now," Dr Rao said.
He declared that KCR should immediately call off his fast, as per the unanimous opinion of doctors. "If he continues with his hunger strike his life would be in danger," Dr Rao said.
