Usually she sings in private songs but she is known for her hot looks. Recently, she also showed her presence of mind in an interview.
This happened in the Vanitha TV Channel interview. The anchor put a rather tricky and dubious question which goes “They say that a singer and music director share a ‘close’ relation, who is the music director close to your heart.”
It looked like Vijayalakshmi knew that if she takes current music directors names then it will be trouble. So, she was intelligent and took the name of M S Vishwanathan who is Ilayaraja’s guru and stated that he is her favourite music director. She also implied that there wouldn’t be any ‘close’ relation between music director and singer, but the relation will just be between ‘composition’ and the ‘voice rendering it’. Those who watched the interview said that Vijayalakshmi sure knows the tactics to handle interviews.
