Soundarya and Vishnuvardhan passed away after doing this film in Kannada. Rajinikanth who doesn't take chances with such things stayed away from acting in the sequel of Chandramukhi. There were rumors that he conducted special pujas when Vishnuvardhan died as he believed that Chandramukhi’s soul would come hunting him.
